Luka said he was inspired to become an innovator after observing that Nigerians import products but hardly manufacture anything.
He said: "We consume so many products. We don't manufacture. "
This led him to reach the decision to produce made in Nigerian products that can compete globally.
He said he came up with the idea for the foot mouse after wondering how people whose arms have been amputated operate the computer. The purpose of his creation, he said, is to enable upper limb amputees to function properly in corporate organizations.
He further explained in this episode how the foot mouse is used.
The mouse has a slipper on one side that the user slips one foot into. This allows the user to control the mouse pointer. The other side of the mouse is for the second foot and it allows the user to either "right click" or left click.
Luka's innovations have won him several awards, including Best Technological Innovation of the year awarded by the Federal Government of Nigeria. He also won The Future Awards, under the category of technology.
