Aregbesola’s former aide accused of having a hand in lover’s death, arrested

Two days ago, I shared a story here about the death of 29 year old Kemi Arobieke whose brother accused her lover Bode Olugbore, an aide to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State of having a hand in her death after she was found dead in his apartment. (read here). Bode had claimed she was electrocuted in his house by a standing fan but the family isn't buying it. They said it's hard to believe because the police showed them the fan and it seemed to be working fine, it wasn't burnt in anyway and they said they found some suspicious marks on her body. Bode, who mourned Kemi openly on his Facebook page has since been arrested.

The former Senior Special Assistant to Governor Aregbesola has been arrested by the police in the state and he's in their custody as they investigate the circumstances that led to Kemi's death.

Below is a statement from one of late Kemi's brothers to LIB

"Yes my sister is dead through circumstances that are still not clear but she was never to marry come November and was not in a fling relationship with Bode as the relationship has spanned over 4yrs even though without the knowledge of members of the family. Bode is said to be separated from his wife though not legally divorced and he's presently held by the police as a primary suspect in this matter.

I am not a judge of character and will not judge my sister in her choice of Bode, i wish i could ask her but am sure she had her reasons. She was buried yesterday and the family hoped for a quick closure of the matter but had to have it in the public domain in this manner that has portrayed her with questionable character. The autopsy was carried out at LAUTECH Teaching hospital with immense support from the resident pathologist. The Police at the State CID Oshogbo have also helped a great deal to ensure the truth is revealed. we await the declaration of the report to us the family latest Wednesday. We trust that the police and all relevant organs of government are capable of revealing the truth"
