Liverpool have been left stunned as Daniel Sturridge was ruled out for another month.
It leaves the Reds’ Champions League hopes in tatters, with the striker – so crucial to their attacking style – certain to miss BOTH group games against Real Madrid.
The England international pulled a calf muscle during a warm-up session before Friday training… just a day after returning to full work with the squad following six weeks out with a thigh injury.
Sturridge was all set to play against QPR at Loftus Road on Sunday and, more importantly, to lead the line against European champions Real at Anfield next Wednesday in a game that could sign-post Liverpool’s European fate
