I feel attacked but It’s not about me' - Keke Palmer responds to August Alsina after she got entangled in a Twitter feud with the singer

Keke Palmer has responded to August Alsina after she got entangled in a Twitter feud with the singer.

The Twitter drama between Keke Palmer and August Alsina was sparked by a fan who alleged that the pair were also linked shortly after Jada Pinkett Smith, 48, confirmed the affair she had 'around four years ago' with August as she spoke candidly with her husband Will Smith, 51, on the recent episode of her Facebook show Red Table Talk on Friday night. The fan shared a throwback photo of Keke Palmer and August Alsina riding in a car together, which Keke had posted back on Instagram back in 2015.

“This you?,” the fan asked.

It didn't take long for Palmer to reply that it was, indeed, her in the photo; but insisted they were never an item.

"Yes girl. August was never my man lol," she wrote. "That’s why you’re still reaching to this day to figure out nothing."

However, Alsina seemingly got upset with Palmer's response and swiftly clapped back in a series of tweets. Read here.

Responding to August in a lengthy post uploaded to her Instagram page, Keke admitted that she felt attacked and would have loved to defend herself against the disrespect from the singer, but claimed that the entire situation was 'about something so much more.'

The actress explained that it 'wouldn't feel good kicking someone when they are down, probably because of what August is going through at the moment following Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith's revelation on the Red Table Talk.

She wrote: 'I wanna be mean, but I can’t. I want to post screenshots, but I won’t. I feel attacked, but It’s not about me. It’s about so much more than that and as much as I want to defend myself against the disrespect I have received(cause I mean I’m not nice all the time ) this is about something so much bigger.'

'I wouldn’t feel good kicking someone when they are down because it’s so easy to attack when you’re in a corner, I get it. People be hurting y’all and most of the time it has nothing to do with you. I can’t fuck up my karma worried about my ego, though I’m human and I have one.'

'Just know I am that bitch despite what my humility may make one believe. I don’t have to beg or be thirsty for a damn thing because my talent speaks louder than my looks. Let the cheek be turned pooh’s, my character is too strong.'
